Creative Media Production

Why Study?

Are you passionate about Media? Have you ever wanted to design your own video game? Or understand audience reactions to news, television, films, radio? Have you ever considered how powerful the Media is?

Creative Media Productions allows students to develop an understanding of the media industry through analysing media representations and pitching and producing media projects.

It is designed for post-16 learners who aim to progress to higher education and ultimately to employment, possibly in the media industries, as part of a programme of study alongside other BTEC Nationals or A-Levels. It is the equivalent to one A-Level.

What can I do with it?

The content of the qualification relates directly to the skills and understanding needed for further study in media production. You you will gain a broad understanding and learn the skills to produce you own media content. You will develop your ability to analyse and deconstruct media images and representations. You will complete an optional introductory unit in a particular media sector such as, publishing, games, film, or radio, which will allow you l to create engaging digital media content and platforms.

Subject combinations

Creative Media Production complements Politics, History, English, Theatre, Art and Music A levels. Sociology, Psychology and Philosophy A levels also work well with Film.
